AmiWest 2013: Trevor Dickinson and Matthew Leaman Announce New Amiga Systems

Hi everyone,

This evening I have some good news from the AmiWest event in Sacramento, California.

Turns out that Trevor Dickinson of A-EON Technology and Matthew Leaman of Amigakit have announced a new range of Amiga systems. Nice!

I’ve embedded the presentation from AmiWest below for you to watch. 🙂 Enjoy!

They also mentioned an Amiga app-store.

Thanks for reading and visiting my blog. 🙂

  1. This is really cool to see. I’m not an Amiga fan but to see someone produce such a retro system and make it new again is really excellent. I love hearing about this kind of stuff.

  2. Low quality of sound and somewhat hysteric laugh make it not easy to follow. At least to me. But the news are more than interesting. The $1.2M deal and all the plans sound fantastic. Unfortunately I don’t believe I could afford such a machine… I wish I was wrong.

I am wondering who is the target here. I know there is a lot of Amigans all over the world. I can imagine a part of that large crowd might buy such a hardware platform. Is it enough however to make any profit from that? Just wondering…

    • Hi there,

You are not alone, I can not afford such a computer either. I wonder what the different models will cost. I see that AmigaKit has started selling the NEMO motherboard from the X1000 now and it costs over 2000 EUR. 😦 I wish they could launch an affordable, low-cost alternative. This would increase the user base quite a lot. Right now I can not justify going AmigaOS 4, so I will stick to classics.
